Hala says

A nine-room Romanelli-family-run boutique with a Moroccan-meets-Mediterranean look: embroidered fabrics, low lanterns, a private ground-floor garden courtyard. A short walk across the bridge from the Accademia.

The Romanelli family has run small Venice hotels for three generations. Nine rooms, all different, all decorated with a mix of Italian, North African, and Asian textiles: embroidered headboards, Berber rugs, low brass lamps. The location: on Calle del Dose off Campo San Maurizio, technically San Marco but on the quiet southern edge of the sestiere, Accademia Bridge five minutes one way, Piazza San Marco ten minutes the other, both completely off the tourist crush in between. Breakfast in the ground-floor pink-and-green courtyard garden in spring.. No restaurant on site, but the honesty bar in the oriental-inspired living room pours an excellent spritz.
