Cookie Notice
What we store, and your choices.
This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies used on hala-studio.com, and how you can control them. For how we handle personal data generally, see our Privacy Policy.
What these technologies are
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. “Local storage” is a related browser feature that keeps small amounts of data on your device. We use both for the purposes below.
What we use
Strictly necessary
Sign-in (Memberstack). When you create an account or sign in, our authentication provider sets cookies needed to keep you logged in. These are essential and are always on.
Functional
Your saved list. The “save to list” feature stores your selections in your browser’s local storage so your list persists between visits. If you are signed in, your list is also synced to your account (see the Privacy Policy). It is not used for tracking.
Analytics (optional — consent required)
Google Analytics. With your permission, Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to measure usage: which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from. We enable IP anonymisation, but this is not fully anonymous and may involve pseudonymous identifiers. We load these only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner, and not at all if you decline.
Advertising (optional — consent required)
Google AdSense. When advertising is running on HALA, Google and its ad technology partners may set cookies and read device identifiers in order to select which ads you see, limit how often you see the same one, and measure whether an ad worked. Some of this involves personalisation based on your browsing on this site and others. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, these are set only after you consent through the Google-certified consent message, which is separate from the analytics banner above and can be reopened at any time. Advertising is not running on HALA yet, so no advertising cookie is set at the moment.
Managing your choices
- Use the cookie banner to accept or decline analytics. You can change or withdraw your choice any time with the Cookie settings link (here and in the footer of every page); no need to clear your browser storage.
- Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies, and clear local storage. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may stop sign-in and member areas from working.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics across sites with Google’s browser opt-out.
- You can control ad personalisation on Google’s services, and on sites that use them, in Google My Ad Center. Turning personalisation off does not remove ads; it makes them less relevant.
- Industry opt-outs cover many advertisers at once: Your Online Choices in Europe and the DAA WebChoices tool in the United States.
Third parties
Memberstack and Google are independent providers with their own privacy practices, and we recommend reading them. Where ads are served, Google works with other ad technology providers who are independent controllers of the data they collect. Google sets out what it collects on sites that use its advertising products in How Google uses information from sites that use our services, and the current list of partners is shown inside the consent message itself.
