A 1525 palazzo built as the residence of Doge Andrea Gritti, with a terrace on the front row of the Grand Canal and Santa Maria della Salute directly opposite.

Built in 1525 as the private residence of Doge Andrea Gritti, the hotel is still laid out as the original residence. The Terrace, front-row on the Grand Canal, looking directly across to Santa Maria della Salute, is its main outdoor room. Eighty-two rooms, most of them with original mosaic floors or hand-painted furniture. The Gritti SPA is run with Sisley Paris. The Riva Lounge serves on the water at sunset.
