Gelateria Nico
Hala Vetted· been first-hand, cleared the bar
On the Zattere promenade since 1937, and the Gianduiotto is what made them famous: gianduia gelato drowned in whipped cream. Eat it walking; the Giudecca canal is the room.
The classic. Nico has been here since 1937, and four generations of the same family have run it. The Gianduiotto da passeggio is the signature: a block of dense gianduia gelato dropped into a cup of whipped cream, heavy, ridiculous, walked along the Zattere with the Giudecca canal on your left and the sun on your face. The cocktail menu is also good if you'd rather a spritz, same prices, same view. Open until midnight in summer.
