The Zillers
Sofia’s Pick· been in person, personally obsessed
A neoclassical building on Mitropoleos by Ernst Ziller, restored into a small hotel with a roof garden over the old town. Three of the five room categories face the Acropolis.
A neoclassical building on Mitropoleos, built by Ernst Ziller, the architect the hotel calls one of Greece's greatest and whose work shaped a good deal of central Athens. It has been fully renovated into a small hotel, and the rooms run from a 16-square-metre petite double up to 32 square metres, with three of the five categories facing the Acropolis and the other two giving onto the interior corridor. The roof garden is the part people book for, and the group also runs a rooftop restaurant and a pastry bar downstairs, with a farm project called Agroktima still to come. Central enough to walk everywhere in the old town, which is the whole argument for staying here.
