Borgo Santandrea
The Cut· research-verified, not yet visited
The look is mid-century meets Mediterranean. By the De Siano and Orlacchio families, who transformed a 1960s hotel over almost four years. 31 rooms and 21 suites, all sea-view, three restaurants, an engineered elevator shaft carved through the rock face down to a private beach club.
The De Siano family (also owners of San Montano on Ischia) and the Orlacchio family transformed a 1960s hotel here over almost four years. 31 rooms and 21 suites, every one with a sea view, custom Italian furniture, and tilework that makes the case on its own. Three restaurants, including Alici, which holds 1 Michelin star under chef Crescenzo Scotti. An engineered elevator shaft carved directly through the rock face drops guests down to a private beach club below (a fully enclosed subterranean shaft, not a transparent cabin).
