An Art Nouveau former post-office building on Ortigia's seafront, restored to its 1920s grandeur.
The grand 1920s post office on Ortigia's Lungomare di Levante, redone by Marriott's Autograph Collection at the start of the decade. The lobby — a glass-ceilinged atrium — is the showpiece, original marble staircase restored. Rooms are big and quiet; sea-view ones on the upper floors get sunrise over the Ionian. The rooftop pool and bar are why you book here, for the view across to the Castello Maniace and the open sea. Steps from Borderi, the market, and the duomo. Two restaurants on-site (one upmarket, one casual).
