Hala says

The Etna DOC is one of the most exciting wine regions in Europe right now — old-vine Nerello Mascalese on volcanic soil at 800m altitude, producing reds that taste like nothing else. Three producers to book a tasting with: Passopisciaro (the Andrea Franchetti pioneer), Pietradolce (the Faraone family's estate, top-rated reds), and Tenuta delle Terre Nere (Marc de Grazia's flagship). Each €25–40, two hours including a barrel tasting. A half-day with a driver is the way.
