Hala says

Rocco Forte's second Rome hotel, above the Spanish Steps. Olga Polizzi's interiors run brighter and more patterned than de Russie's, and the Cielo rooftop restaurant has 360-degree views.

Via Sistina 69 runs from just above the Spanish Steps to the Quirinale Hill, and Hotel de la Ville occupies an 18th-century palazzo on it; reservations opened May 2019 after a full restoration. 104 rooms and suites designed by Tommaso Ziffer in collaboration with Olga Polizzi, with more colour and pattern than de Russie three minutes' walk away. Cielo on the top floor presents Fulvio Pierangelini's cooking; Cielo Bar offers cocktails on the terrace. At ground level, Mosaico runs an Italian menu influenced by the herbs and spices the ancient Romans brought back from the empire. Julep Bar adds a cocktail room inspired by the Grand Tour.
