Hala says

A pared-back design hotel in a 19th-century aristocratic home in the deep Salento: gallery-like suites, a black-bottom citrus-courtyard pool, communal dinners.

A moody, minimalist design hotel inside an 1861 palazzo in Gagliano del Capo, near Capo di Leuca, the southern tip of Puglia's heel. Nine suites with soaring frescoed ceilings, contemporary furniture chosen with care, and a deliberately gallery-like restraint: luxury that signals through what's missing as much as what's there. The black-bottom pool sits in a citrus courtyard. Meals are cooked by four local women and served at one long table, from a seasonal menu that changes daily. Site-specific works by Luigi Presicce, Nicolas Party, Roberto Cuoghi and Carla Accardi sit through the house. It's not a hotel that's trying to please everyone; it suits someone who already knows it exists. Carries a place in The MICHELIN Guide and Design Hotels.
