A 19th-century country estate on the Bellavista hill in Franciacorta wine country, with sweeping views across the rolling Franciacorta vineyards and private woodlands. Owned by the Moretti family (Bellavista wines). The base for a Franciacorta trip.
L'Albereta sits in Erbusco, the village at the centre of Franciacorta DOCG country, Italy's home ground for metodo classico sparkling wine. The Moretti family (owners of the Bellavista winery, one of Franciacorta's anchor producers) restored the property in the 1990s and run it as a country estate, fifty-seven rooms with a tower, a private chapel, and Henri Chenot's flagship Italian spa (wellness program is based here), and a long-respected restaurant. Lake Iseo is twenty minutes by car. The wine tastings (at Bellavista, Ca' del Bosco, Berlucchi, all within a fifteen-minute drive) are the trip. Quiet Lombard countryside rather than lake-front grandeur.
