A 10th-century castle on a 4,200-acre estate, restored by Belmond: heated infinity pool, vespa tours, truffle hunts.
A medieval castle built in 998 on a wooded ridge between Florence and Siena, now a 39-room-and-suite Belmond property on an ancient Etruscan site. Terracotta floors, handwoven textiles, original stone walls; the spa lives in the former wine cellar. A heated infinity pool facing nothing but vineyard. Ristorante Tosca does an upscale version of Tuscan classics on a long stone terrace. The estate is the draw, roughly 4,200 acres of woodland, vineyards and walking trails; vintage Fiat tours, vespa rides, cooking classes and truffle hunts all run on the estate.
