Steaming, aquamarine pools cascading over travertine terraces, the wild thermal springs of southern Tuscany. Free, open 24/7, heated to about 37°C by sulphurous water from an extinct volcano. Go at dawn or after dark. Bring reef shoes, the rocks are slick, and leave the silver at home, the sulphur tarnishes it.
